Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – A breakthrough was made by the Malang City Government in early 2024. Realizing that the community is not just an object but also a subject of development, it encouraged the Malang City Government to have a forum as a space for participation and joint discussion for the progress of the city. Therefore, a non-partitioned space was opened with the community through the NGOMBE program "Ngobrol Mbois Ilakes" which was first held at the Gazebo Balai Kota Malang, Tuesday (2/1/2024).

Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM said that this program was implemented because of the high enthusiasm of the community to meet and discuss directly with the Malang City Government. The plan is that this program will be held once a week.
"Many people and communities want to meet, discuss, and convey directly. Actually, we have received their wishes, although I did not receive them directly. However, it seems that it would be more satisfying if they met me directly. So in 2024, after the roll call, I will try to meet them with the Regional Secretary and all regional officials," he explained.
Wahyu hopes that the NGOMBE program will be a real manifestation of the openness of the Malang City Government. The public can convey their 'concerns' and various inputs and aspirations. The Acting Mayor of Malang said that everything conveyed during the NGOMBE will be used as consideration and evaluation material for the Malang City Government. Through this program, the public will know that their aspirations are heard directly by the number one person in the Malang City Government and are disposed to be immediately followed up by the relevant regional apparatus.
"Although sometimes there can't be a solution right away because we have to study all the problems. We see how the provisions are, so that the policies and decisions taken later can be in accordance with the provisions and expectations. From here I will accommodate all input and make a priority scale, which ones I can do during this term," Wahyu continued.
In this first program, four representatives of the community with various backgrounds were present. There were Arief Wibisono, a writer originally from Malang City, Chairman of the Indonesian Peace Community of Malang City Achmad Fadjri Ghofur, Chintiya from AboutMalang.com Media, and Adi Haris Wahyu Nugroho, a student representative from UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang City. These four residents of Malang City conveyed their aspirations and were responded to directly by the Acting Mayor of Malang.
On this occasion, Arief Wibisono expressed his hope that there would be structured and massive coaching for writers. Arief also asked for facilitation for writers, one of which is the Writer's Identification Card (KIP). In addition, as a football lover, he conveyed a request for support from the Malang City Government to provide coaching for supporters and his dream of establishing a Malang City football library.
Another thing was conveyed by Achmad Fadjri Ghofur. Ghofur is an activist who cares about public services in Malang City who asked for strengthening monitoring of public service problems, such as water flow, potholes, trees that are prone to falling, and parking problems.
Meanwhile, Chintiya from AboutMalang.com media hopes for cooperation with the Malang City Government. Chintiya also conveyed her concerns regarding drinking water services and questions related to the revitalization and activation of the city forest in Wonokoyo.
Lastly, Adi Haris Wahyu Nugroho, as a student representative, asked for facilitation from the Malang City Government so that students can also be involved in various projects being carried out.
Appreciation and positive impressions were given by NGOMBE participants, one of whom was Chintiya. "This is a good program. The city government is really open to community aspirations. With this, we can also hear directly from the Mayor to solve the problem," said Chintiya. (ari/yon)
