Head of the Cemorokandang Village Environmental Cadre, Yusup Karyawan, expressed his happiness that many parties, especially young people, were interested in the maggot business. "There is a lot to be learned and researched by students from UMM, starting from how to cultivate maggots, utilize organic waste, to process maggots and also utilize kasgot," explained Yusup, Friday (5/1/2024).

UMM students who conducted this research were also educated on how maggots can help livestock businesses, be it poultry such as chickens, muscovy ducks, ducks, and also fish. Yusup explained that the high protein content in maggots is very helpful for poultry and fish farming efforts.

"In addition to the BSF Maggot House in Cemorokandang Village, we also invite fellow UMM students to come directly to RW V in Cemorokandang Village to see the application of maggots for poultry farming," explained Yusup.

Not only that, the students were also introduced to how to utilize kasgot (maggot remains) which are very good for use as fertilizer. With this educational introduction to maggot cultivation and its utilization, it is hoped that students will get a concrete picture of processing organic waste into something valuable. (cah/yon)
