Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – In 2024, the Malang City Government (Pemkot) plans to repair various infrastructure facilities at the Malang Big Market (PBM) with a budget allocation for repairs sourced from the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) of IDR 1 billion.
Some of these repairs include roofs, gutters and drainage that have been damaged. Some of these repairs are based on complaints received from PBM traders, so that later it will provide comfort for traders and market visitors.
Head of the Cooperatives, Industry and Trade Service (Diskopindag) of Malang City, Eko Sri Yuliadi, on Friday (5/1/2024) revealed that the drainage repair work will be realized around April 2024.
Eko said that many of the water channels or drainage in the PBM area are damaged and not functioning properly, which can trigger overflows or flooding, especially during the rainy season like now.
"The plan for repair and maintenance of the PBM has been agreed to be carried out in 2024. Traders have also been informed to prepare for this repair activity. Thus, everything will run well," he continued.
Furthermore, Eko said that for the long term, the concept of a larger revitalization still needs to be reorganized. In this case, the Malang City Government is still trying to get budget allocation from the center.
"Everything is still being attempted for large-scale revitalization. The process is quite long, and we hope everyone can be patient and understand it all, especially the traders. We always try to always give the best," he concluded. (say/yon)
