Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – Starting 2024, the Malang City Tourism Awareness Group Communication Forum (Forkom Pokdarwis) held the Gugur Gunung Bangun Kampung Movement which began at Bamboo Mewek Park, Tunjungsekar Village, Lowokwaru District, Malang City, Sunday (7/1/2024).
Head of Forkom Pokdarwis Malang City Isa Wahyudi revealed that the Gugur Gunung Bangun Kampung Movement is planned to be carried out around 23 thematic villages in 2024. It is estimated that two thematic villages will be visited in a month. "Except in July 2024, seven rivers in thematic villages will be visited simultaneously. While in other months there is one or two," explained Isa.
The Gugur Gunung Bangun Kampung Movement was deliberately initiated at Bamboo Mewek Park, said the man who is familiarly called Ki Demang, considering that this village previously had a background of being the champion of thematic villages throughout Malang City.
"Currently, Kampung Bamboo Mewek Park is poorly maintained, and less attractive to tourists to come. We hope that this activity can revive the spirit to develop this tourist village," hoped Ki Demang.
In this activity, tree planting activities were also carried out to enrich the types of plants in Bamboo Mewek Park. In addition, it was also filled with thematic village discussions to finalize various activities that will be carried out by Pokdarwis Malang City during 2024. This activity involved members of Pokdarwis Malang City, residents, students, Disporapar, and also from the Environmental Service (DLH) of Malang City.
One of the participants of the 2024 Gerakan Gugur Gunung Bangun Kampung from the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), Imam Abusiri responded very positively to this activity. This is an activity that is followed by young people from HMI UMM in carrying out community service. "We hope that activities like this can be carried out by all groups, especially students, how to maintain green open spaces in Malang City," said Imam. (cah/yon)
