Head of the EBTKE Infrastructure Building Supervision Sub-Directorate of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Agung Feinnudin, said that the EBTKE Directorate General continues to run the program of installing Solar-Powered Public Street Lighting (PJU-TS) as an effort to utilize the state budget that can be directly felt by the community as well as utilizing environmentally friendly renewable energy.

Agung revealed that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources through the aspirations of the Indonesian House of Representatives with the support of the Malang City Government is committed to running various programs that are beneficial to the community, especially the use of solar energy for street lighting through the PJU-TS program. "The PJU-TS program is one of the solutions for efficient electricity for lighting that is focused on rural roads, especially those that are difficult to reach by the PLN network," he continued.

In the 2023 budget year, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has successfully built 650 PJU-TS units spread across two provinces, namely East Java and Maluku. Of that number, 175 PJU-TS units were built in Malang City.

The presence of PJU-TS is certainly expected to facilitate people's daily activities. "Hopefully, the installation of PJU-TS can provide benefits and help the community so that economic development can run quickly. We also hope that the installed PJU-TS can be maintained together by the community so that its benefits can be felt in the long term," concluded Agung.

On the inauguration and handover, Kedungkandang Sub-district Head Fahmi Fauzan AZ expressed his gratitude because his area was trusted to be one of the locations for the construction of PJU-TS. "This is a form of government presence for the community. Thank you for the support and attention given to Malang City, especially in Kedungkandang Sub-district," he said.

As a regional stakeholder, Fahmi continues to strive to ensure that the streets in his area are adequately lit. Therefore, his party is also still hoping for support from the central government so that PJU-TS can be increased.

Meanwhile, Head of RW VIII Tlogowaru Village Imam Safii said that before the presence of PJU-TS, the streets in his village had minimal lighting, especially since this area has many rice fields and fairly large gardens. "Alhamdulillah, with this PJU-TS, we are helped to make it easier to interact with residents of other RWs and residents are also safer and more comfortable because the roads are brighter," said Imam.

Also present at this activity were Member of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives Moreno Suprapto, Head of the Malang City PUPRPKP Service Dandung Djulharjanto, and Head of the Malang City Transportation Service R. Widjaja Saleh Putra. This activity was also witnessed directly by residents of RW VIII, Tlogowaru Village, Kedungkandang District. (ari/yon)
