Polio Sub PIN at RW 6 Hall, Karangbesuki Village

Head of the Malang City Health Service (Dinkes) dr. Husnul Muarif, MM after reviewing polio immunization at the RW 6 Hall, Karangbesuki Village, Sukun District, Malang City, Wednesday (17/1/2024) said that every day there are 200 to 260 polio immunization locations and each location serves 90-100 children.

The bespectacled man said that until now, no polio cases have been found in Malang City. However, if a case occurs, a referral place has been prepared, namely the Saiful Anwar Malang Regional General Hospital (RSUD). In the hospital owned by the East Java Provincial Government, there is already a special team and service for children after or after immunization.

If a child experiences sudden paralysis without trauma, Dr. Husnul emphasized to immediately take him/her to the nearest health center or hospital and have him/her examined. "Later, he/she will be examined and a sample will be taken. The sample will be in the form of feces," he continued.

If during the examination and then a polio case is found, then it could be determined as an Extraordinary Event (KLB) of polio in Malang City. "But if there is no polio virus, then the child will be treated according to the complaints experienced," he explained.

"From these signs, there are indications that the child has been infected with the polio virus. Therefore, residents who have children aged 0-7 years should be immunized immediately. Later, there will be a second phase of immunization on February 19-24, 2024," concluded Husnul. (say/yon)
