Head of Disease Prevention and Control Division of Malang City Health Office Meiftah Eti Winindar, SST., MM said that as of Saturday (21/1/2024), the achievement of Polio Sub PIN in Malang City had exceeded the target. "It has reached 98,4 percent. Indeed, the target set is 95 percent. But we hope that we can not only achieve the target. Therefore, we are trying ways to reach all targets, one of which is by providing immunization service posts in crowded centers on holidays like this," explained Mieftah.

The Malang City Health Office believes that the achievement of the Polio Sub PIN can reach 100 percent of the target because of the support from various parties. "Alhamdulillah, until yesterday we have exceeded the target. This is all thanks to the support of all parties. Such as from the Malang OJK and banking, so we asked for support to be able to provide leeway for their employees to be given time to take their children to the immunization service post yesterday," he said.

During the implementation of the first phase of Sub PIN Polio, the Malang City Health Office continues to conduct evaluations every day. This is done to find out the obstacles faced in the implementation. Mieftah also said that his party has planned several strategies to be able to reach more targets. One of them is through the implementation of vaccinations in crowded centers on Sundays.

By holding immunization services on this holiday to facilitate parents who are unable to take their children to get polio immunization at the integrated health post or other immunization service posts on weekdays because they have to work or other limitations on weekdays. "We are trying to facilitate the community who may have been unable to come to the integrated health post yesterday, or may not know where the integrated health post is because they have been accustomed to taking their children to clinics or hospitals for immunization," continued Meiftah.

The Health Office noted that the total number of children vaccinated at the five locations reached 1.454. With details in Matos 422 children, in MOG 454 children, in Brawijaya Museum 146 children, in Malang City Jami' Mosque 199 children, and in Persada Hospital 233 children. Meiftah also said that this service is also open not only to Malang City residents, but also to newcomers who happen to be in Malang City. "There were even some tourists whose children were also vaccinated. For Indonesian citizens, we ask for their NIK, for foreign nationals, they can use their passports. So we facilitate all children," he added.

In the implementation of the Polio Sub PIN this time, the Health Office collaborated with the Indonesian Pediatrician Association (IDAI) East Java Branch Representative V Malang and surrounding private hospitals. In the implementation of the Polio Sub PIN at these five points, pediatricians were directly involved as immunization facilitators. "In this activity, we were asked to be facilitators by the Health Office. At each point there were pediatricians serving. A total of seven doctors were involved. In addition, the East Java IDAI management, the Malang IDAI management, and also young IDAI members were also present," said dr. Ariani., M. Kes., Sp.
