Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) continues to strengthen the hufaz program for the golden generation of Malang City and Indonesia. This was conveyed by the Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM when opening the 2024 Malang City Hufaz Capacity Building and Verification activity at the Pelangi Hotel, Wednesday (24/1/2024).
In the activity held by the Public Welfare and Community Section of the Malang City Regional Secretariat, Wahyu said that reading and memorizing the Quran for Muslims is a form of worship that has advantages in the world and the hereafter. The advantages in the world include the blessings of Rabani that come from Allah SWT which promise goodness, blessings and pleasure as well as knowledge for those who memorize it.
"Meanwhile, in the afterlife, in addition to receiving intercession, those who memorize the Quran will also receive the honor of Tajul Karomah (Crown of Glory) for themselves and their parents," said Wahyu.
The hope is of course not just memorizing, but continuing to understand and practice the Quran as an ocean of knowledge that will never be exhausted, including its relevance in fostering the morals and character of society, especially the younger generation.
"The program for hufaz is part of the Malang City Government's commitment to overseeing the development of community character. The increase in the number of program participants is expected to be an indication of the strengthening potential of hufaz and its role in society and development," he explained.
Character formation is also continuously built through local content of formal education. Thus, good and commendable character or morals (akhlaqul-qarimah) instilled early on in children is a good foundation. "Hopefully this can be a medium to encourage the young generation of Malang City so that there are more hufaz that cool Malang City," he concluded.
The number of Malang City hufaz incentive recipients in 2021 will be 56 people, in 2022 there will be 98 people, in 2023 there will be 105 people, then in 2024 this will increase to 115 people. (yul/yon)
