Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Reviewing the readiness and other matters related to the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Elections, Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM together with the ranks of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) Plus visited the Office of the General Elections Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) of Malang City, Wednesday (24/1/2024).
Acting Mayor of Malang Wahyu Hidayat assessed that the Malang City Bawaslu Office located on Jl. Teluk Cendrawasih is less representative, and requires a better alternative location.
"We see from the condition of the building and the place that is less representative. This requires a lot of evaluation. The location is also in the middle of the village, considering the working hours until late at night," said Wahyu.
Regarding the program activities carried out by Bawaslu, Wahyu emphasized that there were no problems, both related to campaign equipment, including Integrated Law Enforcement (Gakumdu).
Responding to this, Malang City Bawaslu Chairman Mochamad Arifudin said that the Bawaslu Office was indeed less representative, so his party hoped that the request for a new office could be accommodated. "Actually, our request has been long overdue. Coincidentally, today the Acting Mayor of Malang came with the Forkopimda and indeed the place was considered not representative," explained Arifudin.
Arifudin said that Malang City Bawaslu has carried out maximum supervision. "We have maximized prevention to action, especially in monitoring the campaign that has been going on since November 28, 2023 until now," explained Arifudin. (cah/yon)
