Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The reference for the direction of regional development policy in the Malang City Regional Development Plan (RPD) for 2024-2026 consists of five strategic components, namely controlling inflation, handling extreme poverty, accelerating the reduction of stunting, ease of doing business, and the creative economy, or what is commonly called 4 Healthy 5 Perfect.

The objectives and targets of the 2024-2026 RPD are to realize quality and competitive human resources, increase equitable and sustainable economic growth. The next is to realize welfare and social harmony based on diversity and to realize the transformation of public services that are orderly, personal and accountable.
This was conveyed by the Acting Mayor of Malang, Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM at the Public Consultation Forum for the Initial Draft of the Malang City Regional Work Plan (RKPD) for 2025 with the theme Sustainable Inclusive Economic Transformation Towards Global Competitiveness and Collaborative Participatory Governance at the Grand Mercure Malang Mirama Hotel, Thursday (25/1/2023).
Wahyu added, the direction of development policy in 2025 includes participatory and collaborative bureaucracy, competent, healthy and characterful human resource competitiveness. Next is inclusive and sustainable infrastructure to support a globally competitive economy. "The last is maintaining purchasing power and social protection," he added.
Some strategic issues in 2025, he mentioned are human resources which include improving the quality and competitiveness of intelligent, adaptive, innovative, characterful and cultured human resources. Improving the quality of public health and improving workforce competency, job opportunities and business fields.
"The second strategic issue is the economy, infrastructure and environment. This issue includes increasing the potential for regional competitiveness through strengthening the creative economy in facing the global crisis. Fiscal independence through strengthening Regional Original Income (PAD), development and spatial planning and city infrastructure. Building the environment, increasing disaster and climate change resilience," explained Wahyu.
The third strategic issue is governance, which includes optimizing the enforcement of regional regulations (Perda), accelerating governance reform and work accountability.
