Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM together with the ranks of the Malang City Government attended a virtual meeting on the Coordination of Corruption Prevention and Eradication and the introduction of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Task Force from the Ngalam Command Center (NCC) Room, Malang City Hall, Monday (29/1/2024).
This online meeting was also attended by several other regencies/cities such as the Batu, Blitar, Pasuruan and Surabaya City Governments. This coordination meeting was deliberately held in early 2024 so that regional heads can maximize their programs and budgets. In addition, what has been done in 2023 can be a foothold or reference so that this year is better.
Director of Supervision Coordination III of the Corruption Eradication Committee, Bahtiar Ujang Permana, said that regional governments should not create the same work programs as in 2023. "From year to year, performance achievements must increase significantly," he said.
Bahtiar added that the local government must re-identify the potential it has and be able to absorb revenue to the maximum. He also advised to place the best people and those with the appropriate abilities in each field of work.
"Follow all the rules and if there is something you don't understand, we open the door at any time for consultation. For example, in the procurement of goods and services, you must follow the mechanism and not because you like it or not," Bahtiar explained.
After attending the coordination meeting, Acting Mayor of Malang Wahyu Hidayat expressed his appreciation and welcomed what the KPK had done. "I think it's not just Malang City that gives appreciation, but also all virtual zoom participants. We were all reminded and this is very good for the good of all in the future," explained Wahyu.
"The KPK always reminds every regional head, so that later they will not be trapped in corruption. Like today's coordination meeting which is more about prevention, and we welcome it positively, so that later Malang City will be even better," he concluded. (say/yon)
