Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Currently, Indonesia needs at least four million new entrepreneurs to encourage strengthening the economic structure. The ratio of entrepreneurs in the country is still around 3,1 percent of the total population of Indonesia which reaches 278 million people. This opportunity was captured by the Youth, Sports and Tourism Office (Disporapar) of Malang City by holding a Socialization of Youth Entrepreneurial Skills Development for Malang City at the Ijen Suites Hotel, Malang City, Thursday (1/2/2024).

Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM when attending and opening the event said that entrepreneurial opportunities are still wide open. "This is an opportunity for all fellow young people. Moreover, the current population is mostly of productive age," he explained.
With this socialization, Wahyu said there will be a picture for participants to improve youth businesses in Malang City. "This can be seen from the three speakers who were presented who are also young people and have succeeded in developing their businesses," added the Acting Mayor of Malang.
The diverse materials from the speakers, starting from how to create products, market them, and utilize digital technology, will provide an overview that can improve the skills and competitiveness of young people. "So after graduating, they will not only be employees, but can have their own employees. Because this is the success of young people, which has been recognized not only locally, but nationally," he explained further.
Wahyu further said that micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), especially those based on the creative economy in Malang City, play a very important role in improving the economy in Malang City. "We have increased drastically in terms of the economy, one of which is supported by MSMEs," he said.
When the economy rises, explained the number one person in the Malang City Government, it will have an impact on the open unemployment rate (TPT) which will decrease. "It's significant. It means that so far the welfare or skills provided, especially to the unemployed, have been successful. They finally get creative, there is something that makes income, then it has an impact on the economy which increases, so that our TPT decreases," he concluded.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang City Disporapar Baihaqi said that along with the entrepreneurial opportunities that are still wide open and in line with the program of the Acting Mayor of Malang, young people must absolutely be given skills in order to take advantage of the market segment which is actually extraordinary.
"The purpose of this activity is as a literacy effort for young people in entrepreneurship to improve young people's skills in displaying products and marketing. Participants are young people who are members of youth organizations according to the proposal of the Youth Thematic Murenbang and the proposal of the Malang City DPRD pokir as many as 215 young people," he explained.
