Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Freshwater fish farming training and provision of assistance to fish farmers by the Malang City Food Security and Agriculture Service (Dispangtan) at the Grand Mercure Malang Mirama Hotel, Malang City, Monday (5/2/2024) was enthusiastically welcomed by farmers in Malang City.

The training and provision of assistance for facilities and infrastructure were given to 99 farmers. One of the training participants, Iis Sugiarti, said that she gained a lot of knowledge on how to raise fish. Such as how to keep fish from dying easily and the results of the cultivation produce large and healthy fish.
Likewise, the provision of assistance in the form of catfish seeds, facilities for making ponds, fish food and other equipment, made the woman in hijab more enthusiastic in raising livestock with her family. "This assistance is very useful because it is very complete and in the future I am optimistic that I can become a reliable farmer," explained Iis.
"By raising fish, it will also increase family income. I already have customers, especially catfish, namely several lalapan stalls. So of course my sales turnover will increase," he continued.
A similar statement was made by Supriyadi. He admitted that he would continue to take the fish farming business seriously. "This training and assistance are very helpful. I say thank you very much," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang City Agriculture and Food Security Agency, Slamet Husnan Hariyadi, said that this training and assistance was indeed more towards increasing food security in the family, RT and RW environments, so that the community's fish needs are met properly.
He said that his party has always provided assistance and consultation for farmers. "One of them is that we have a messaging application group with farmers, so that the problems and needs of farmers can be resolved properly," explained Slamet. (say/yon)
