Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Population and Civil Registration Service (Dispendukcapil) of Malang City is again holding an outreach service in educational environments entitled 'Dukcapil Goes To School' targeting SMAN 1, SMAN 3, and SMAN 4 or what is known as the Tugu High School complex, Monday (5/2/2024).

The activity felt special because it was attended directly by the Acting Mayor of Malang, Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM. The number one person in the Malang City Government (Pemkot) said that KTP (Resident Identity Card) is an important official identity and must be owned by every citizen. By having a KTP, of course a citizen will have better access to obtain various public services.
"This activity is part of the Malang City Government's efforts to ensure that all residents, including the younger generation, have legal and complete official identities recorded in the state administration system. At the same time, to improve orderly population administration," explained Wahyu.
Wahyu said that the e-KTP recording activity has strategic value, especially for beginners. "This official identity will be the foundation for your future in various aspects of life, including education, work, and various other rights such as participating in elections. This signifies maturity and is an important step in your life as a responsible citizen," he said.
On this occasion, the Acting Mayor of Malang invited the younger generation, including students who already have the right to vote to participate in the election. "They are new voters, of course this will also reflect their responsibility to be able to cast their votes. With their votes, they will also determine their future, how the future of our country is," he concluded.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang City Population and Civil Registry Office, Ir. Dahliana Lusi Ratnasari, MM revealed that her office has routinely held outreach activities, including for high schools/equivalent. The woman who is familiarly called Lusi said that currently the Population and Civil Registry Office is trying to ensure that 17-year-olds can record their e-KTP. This is also closely related to the Simultaneous Democracy Party which will be held on February 14.
"For these 17-year-olds, they already have the right to vote. We are trying to complete this in Malang City. Meanwhile, to vote, you must bring your ID card, so those whose birthday is on February 14, we will give them a printed biodata. So there is already a solution, even though they have not been recorded, we will print their biodata, there is a biodata product from Dukcapil, a photo appears, then there is also an electronic barcode signature," explained Lusi.
Dispendukcapil will continue to strive to improve the achievement of e-KTP recording, especially to increase the number of first-time voters. In addition to conducting outreach to schools, they also encourage the public to be able to independently take care of their population documents directly to the Dispendukcapil office or to the Merdeka Public Service Mall (MPP) in Malang City.
"On February 14, 2024, we will also open the MPP service for the election. So even though it's a holiday, we will open it at the MPP, because (its location) is in the middle of the city, so it's easy to reach. We have also coordinated with the KPU which asked us to provide services if there are administrative problems at the TPS, it can be resolved at that time," he concluded. (ari/yon)
