Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) has recently revitalized several traditional markets, including the Madyopuro Market. The Head of the Malang City Cooperatives, Industry, and Trade Service (Diskopindag), Eko Sri Yuliadi, Wednesday (7/2/2024) revealed that the concept of revitalizing the development of markets in the Kedungkandang District area is open or los.
He explained that this is in accordance with the existing and based on the letter of placement of traders. The Detail Engineering Design (DED) submitted by the Malang City Government to the Central Government is indeed open. "This is what must be understood by all parties, both the community, traders and everyone who cares about the Madyopuro Market," he added.
This was conveyed in response to a number of traders who requested the addition of rolling doors as a cover on their stalls. This was done after several traders installed their own rolling doors. The reason is, traders are safer and more comfortable when selling or when their stalls are closed.
Diskopindag Malang City has also provided a solution to the requests of a number of traders. "In this context, we still have tolerance and still care about traders, so what they ask for can still be accommodated," added Eko.
Eko said that his party had taken concrete steps by submitting a special budget in the 2024 APBD Financial Budget Amendment (PAK). However, the budget will later be focused on making partitions, not for rolling doors.
"This step is an effort by the Malang City Government to maintain order and consistency in managing the market after revitalization. Thus, the existence of the government is beneficial to the community and as a form of concern for traders," concluded Eko. (say/yon)
