Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini handed over various assistance to beneficiary residents at the Kertanegara Restaurant in Malang City, Sunday (18/2/2024). The assistance distributed to residents from several areas in East Java is in the form of assistance for education, medical and operational costs that are not covered by BPJS Kesehatan.

Minister Risma said that the aid was distributed to two children with hydrocephalus and a child with eye cancer, because the medical costs required are very large and not all are covered by BPJS Kesehatan. "They also need nutrition and nutritious food to speed up the healing process," she added.
The operational costs, such as for accommodation, are also large, so the Ministry of Social Affairs distributes various assistance. On this occasion, educational assistance was also given to a seventh grade student of Junior High School (SMP) whose parents both died.
"They usually suffer not only from BPJS. There are other needs outside that are not covered by BPJS. Well, that's why I try to help even though we also help with operations, but there are things they have to spend outside of the BPJS costs and that's big," explained the woman who once served as Mayor of Surabaya.
Before handing over the aid, this woman in a hijab admitted to getting data and information from the mass media and social media. "The distribution of a number of aids is also based on the submission and verification of the donation platform kitabisa.com which has been working with the Ministry of Social Affairs," she concluded.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Social Service, Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning (Dinsos P3AP2KB) of Malang City, Donny Sandito W., S.STP, M.Si appreciated the distribution of the assistance. According to him, this is very helpful for residents to ease their burdens. (say/yon)
