Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Competition in the 2024 Simultaneous General Election (Pemilu) contest is very high, especially at the legislative candidate (caleg) level. From this condition and referring to the 2019 Election, not a few failed candidates experienced depression and stress.
Head of the Malang City Health Service (Dinkes), dr. Husnul Muarif, when met on Monday (19/2/2024), in Malang City there are four hospitals to deal with legislative candidates who experience depression. Saiful Anwar Hospital (RSSA), Soepraoen Army Hospital (RST), Lavalette Hospital and/or Panti Nirmala Hospital. Each of these hospitals has prepared around 20 beds.
"For health services provided to patients, identification will be carried out first. If the mental disorder experienced is only depression, it will be handled by each hospital," he added.
However, if further treatment is required, they will be referred to the Mental Hospital (RSJ) in Lawang, Malang Regency. "We have coordinated with RSJ Lawang, so that we can accept patients at any time, especially from Malang City," he explained.
Furthermore, Dr. Husnul said that in the referral hospital there are already experienced doctors, namely mental health experts and psychologists. "Later, whether the patient should be referred to the mental hospital or not, depends on the results of the diagnosis from the medical personnel at the initial referral hospital," he concluded.
