Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Since the implementation of traffic engineering management in the Klojen area as stated in the Malang Mayor Regulation (Perwal) Number 39 of 2023 concerning Traffic Management and Engineering in Klojen District, it is necessary to make changes to Perwal Number 6 of 2011 concerning Orderly Traffic Areas.

Several in-depth aspects were also discussed in the Traffic and Road Transportation Forum (FLLAJ) Coordination Meeting at the Shalimar Hotel, Thursday (22/2/2024). The discussion included articles that required changes, including article 5, namely regarding the area stated in the KTL, by adding roads affected by the implementation of traffic engineering management in the Klojen area.

The location of the area declared as KTL is Jalan Besar Ijen, Kawi, Arif Rahman Hakim, Merdeka Timur, Merdeka Utara, Basuki Rahmat, Attorney General Suprapto, Lieutenant General Sutoyo, Lieutenant General S Parman and Ahmad Yani (Borobudur Intersection).

In addition, the article that requires changes is article 6, regarding the KTL implementing officers. In a KTL, the agencies involved are from the Transportation Agency, Satpol PP, Malang City Police, Military Police, Pomal, Kodim 0833. Daily responsibility by the Head of Traffic and the Head of the Transportation Agency.

Regarding this, Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM admitted to supporting the changes or improvements to the KTL Mayoral Regulation. The reason is, the regulation has been around for a long time and the condition of Malang City has experienced many developments and changes, so that adjustments to conditions in the field according to him are the right steps.

He added, if referring to the regulation, the number of areas designated as KTL can increase or decrease. "We are waiting for the results of the FLLAJ discussion. What is produced later must be through in-depth study and the best," he said.

"For the initial stage, the KTL area must be equipped with the necessary signs to avoid traffic jams. No less important, the LLAJ Forum must also collaborate with the Public Works Department, because in its application, the KTL area must be closely related to city spatial planning," concluded Wahyu.
