Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM appreciated the steps of the Malang Raya Branch Leadership Council (DPC) of the National Anti-Narcotics Generation (GANN) which held an Anti-Narcotics Training of Trainers for counselors on the 3rd Floor of the Malang Creative Center (MCC) Building, Malang City, Saturday (2/3/2024). This activity is part of preventive efforts in order to combat and eradicate narcotics.
"I express my positive appreciation for the implementation of this activity. Of course this is a good breakthrough step and a noble task to suppress drug problems in Malang Raya. The Malang City Government is also very committed to fighting drugs, according to the slogan Prestasi Yes, Narkoba No," explained Wahyu in his speech.
Wahyu said that his party fully supports and is ready to strengthen synergy and collaboration in realizing efforts to prevent and eradicate drugs in Malang Raya. In the future, he hopes that a Rehabilitation Center will be built in Malang City for survivors of drug abuse in order to accelerate and provide awareness for drug survivors.
"I will fully support GANN's steps. This is a noble task, especially later the target of counseling will be children, the next generation of the nation who are also vulnerable to drug abuse," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of DPC GANN Malang Raya, Dwi Indritito Cahyono, SH, said that his party is collaborating with the Education Office and Health Office throughout Malang Raya to implement a counseling program for school students who are also vulnerable to exposure to drug abuse.
"This is the first batch whose goal is to train counselors to then provide materials to students in schools ranging from elementary, junior high to high school throughout Malang Raya. In the future there will be a continuation. This anti-drug counseling is important because it carries a counseling mission in schools, we will go door to door, as a preventive measure in fighting drugs," he concluded. (yul/yon)
