Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) from Malang Raya demonstrated extraordinary abilities in their work while participating in the Rupacita workshop at the Malang Creative Center (MCC) in Malang City, Tuesday (5/3/2024).
Founder of Malang Autism Center (MAC), Mohammad Cahyadi, said that this activity aims to train ASD children in making mural art, and the results are extraordinary. "We hope that this activity can increase the confidence of autistic children to create, be more independent, and not inferior to people in general," explained Cahyadi.
Through this educational painting and coloring program, autistic children will be able to develop their cognitive, social, and emotional abilities. "We hope that this activity can help develop the creativity and independence of autistic children so that they can interact with the wider community," he explained again.
In addition, in this workshop, children with ASD were also given the opportunity to collaborate with the paint start-up Wouww.com by involving local governments throughout Malang Raya.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Social Service, Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning (Dinsos P3AP2KB) of Malang City, Donny Sandito, welcomed this activity as an effort to increase the independence of autistic children in Malang Raya.
