DLH's Steps to Anticipate Fallen Tree Incidents

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – In the last few days, extreme weather has hit Malang City, namely strong winds that are sometimes accompanied by rain. This extreme weather has resulted in fallen trees in several places.

To anticipate such incidents, the Environmental Service (DLH) of Malang City has taken various steps to reduce the occurrence of fallen trees. These concrete steps include collecting information by routinely monitoring by the DLH team on trees that are prone to falling.

Head of the Green Open Space (RTH) Division of the Malang City Environmental Agency, Laode Kulaita B. Al Fitra, when met on Friday (15/3/2024), revealed that the next step is to share information or disseminate and share information with other agencies, such as the BPBD, Police, Resilient Village Groups, and others.

"We also monitor and collect information from the public about the existence of trees that are prone to falling. So it is hoped that the public will participate and be proactive in this matter," Laode said.

Meanwhile, as a follow-up to the anticipation, Laode said that his party conducted a survey and checked the location. Then, the trees that were considered worrying or prone to falling were cut down.

Furthermore, Laode said that his party also carried out tree pruning in certain road sections. This effort was carried out at night by the DLH team on busy traffic routes. Another handling is to alert the fallen tree emergency team," explained Laode. (say/yon)
