Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM together with the ranks of the Malang City Government (Pemkot) conducted a Ramadan Safari at the An-Nahdlah Mosque, Jl. Lahor 38, Bunulrejo Village, Blimbing District, Malang City, Saturday (16/3/2024).
On this occasion, the Acting Mayor of Malang handed over several aids, including aid for mosques, food aid as an effort to prevent stunting and a form of intervention to control inflation, and aid for orphans and the poor.
"In the second Ramadan Safari that we (the City Government) conducted together with PCNU this time, as with the previous Ramadan Safari, we distributed aid needed by the congregation and residents around the mosque," he explained.
Wahyu said that one of the assistance provided was basic food assistance. Given that some beneficiaries are in the stunting category, Wahyu hopes that through this food assistance it can provide benefits so that the target of accelerating the reduction of stunting can be achieved soon.
The contents of the food aid packages that were handed over were tilapia, eggs, cucumbers, eggplants, chilies, broccoli, green beans, long beans, cabbage, tomatoes, luffa, kale, and spring onions. In addition to being a form of prevention and handling of stunting, this is also an intervention to control inflation.
"Hopefully this Ramadan Safari can provide benefits to residents around the mosques we visit. We start Ramadan with several things, after the election yesterday, some basic prices may have increased. The Malang City Government continues to make various efforts according to the direction of the Minister of Home Affairs as an intervention effort, in suppressing prices," he explained.
In this way, it is hoped that the price of basic necessities will be controlled and the results of these efforts can be felt by the community. Through the Malang City Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID), one of the efforts made is the presence of the Inflation Press Warung which has been implemented in Dinoyo Market, Blimbing Market and Pasar Besar.
"By continuing to ignite the spirit of Islamic brotherhood, through the Safari Ramadan activity, it is hoped that it can unite the steps of all parties, both citizens and the government, as well as ulama and umara," he hoped.
Wahyu further said that on April 1, Malang City will celebrate its anniversary. The theme raised in the celebration of the 110th anniversary of Malang City is Harmonious for a Classy Malang City, which means that all elements can be in harmony so that Malang City can move up a class. "We hope that not only the Malang City Government will feel the excitement, but also the community," added Wahyu.
In this Ramadan Safari, in addition to performing tarawih prayers together and handing over aid, free health check-up services and a cheap bazaar involving MSMEs are also provided.
"Happy fasting. Hopefully the people of Malang City can worship in this month of Ramadan well. Hopefully this Ramadan Safari can provide benefits for the congregation here, including us distributing this aid is a form of empathy," he concluded. (yul/yon)
