Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Until now, the stock in the Perum Bulog Malang warehouse is 4.200 tons of rice, 7.000 liters of cooking oil, and 22 tons of granulated sugar. This stock can meet the needs of residents in Malang Raya and Pasuruan Raya until May 2024.
This was conveyed by the Head of Perum Bulog Malang, Siane Dwi Agustina, Monday (18/3/2024). He added that from January to early March around 4.300 tons of rice from the Food Supply and Price Stabilization program or SPHP rice were distributed to residents in Malang Raya and Pasuruan Raya. Meanwhile, 10 tons of SPHP corn were sold at a price of IDR 5.000 per kilogram.
In the near future, Siane said that his party will receive an additional 4.000 tons of rice. Therefore, the public is advised not to carry out panic buying. Especially ahead of Eid al-Fitr, Perum Bulog together with local governments and other related parties will continue to hold cheap markets.
"Our current stock is 4.200 tons and is in the process of being fulfilled by 4.000 tons. That is enough until April's food aid, so it is still safe until May. So people do not need to panic buy, God willing, the stock at Bulog Malang Branch is safe," said the woman in the hijab.
"The holding of cheap markets and distribution of SPHP rice will continue to be intensified, especially when there is an increase in food prices like now. Thus, prices will be controlled and people's purchasing power will be well maintained," concluded Siane. (say/yon)
