Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Joint officers consisting of the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), the Malang City Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) together with the TNI-Polri ranks carried out Operation Cipta kondisi Operasi which targeted a number of business premises, namely shops that were indicated as not having permits to sell alcoholic beverages, karaoke places, massage parlors and cafes, Saturday night (23/3/2024).

When leading the joint operation, the Head of Public Order and Security (Kabid Trantibum) of the Malang City Satpol PP, Rahmat Hidayat, said that this step was a follow-up to the Circular of the Mayor of Malang Number 4 of 2024 concerning the activities of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah.
According to the circular, during Ramadan night entertainment venues must close and the sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited. In this operation, officers confiscated hundreds of alcoholic beverages and gave stern warnings to business owners who were suspected of selling alcoholic beverages and whose business permits were not in accordance with their intended use.
"In this action, carburization can be prosecuted by Satpol PP or the Police, because both have the authority related to minor crimes. And indeed there are also several kiosks, shops that we previously conducted pulbaket or monitoring that are still open. But when we operate, they are closed, yes, most likely they have a network so that this operation is leaked," added Rahmat.
Meanwhile, Head of Samapta Unit of Malang City Police, Commissioner Wiwin Rusli said violators of this rule will be referred to court. "According to Article 300 of the Criminal Code, violators can be sentenced to three months and subject to a fine," he said.
"We actually conducted a similar operation before. Yesterday there was also an instruction from the East Java Regional Police for us to conduct a joint operation as well, both from the Samapta function and from the Reskrim function and it has been running. As a result, there have been several cases related to alcoholic beverages in particular and for evidence we have secured including tonight," explained Kompol Rusli.
In order to create peace and order during Ramadan, similar operations will be carried out intensively so that it will provide peace for Muslims who are fasting. (say/yon)
