Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Pelangi Nusantara Community (Pelanusa) showcased various craft products and shared knowledge in an activity entitled Pipian Mbois Rek on the second floor of the Malang Creative Center (MCC) building in Malang City, Saturday (30/3/2024).

Pelanusa Founder Endahing Noor Suryanti said that this activity was a sharing activity with the Pelanusa creative team which showcased various works by Pelanusa members who had undergone training and business incubation for three months.

"This activity is also a means for us to foster friendship with all members of Pelanusa, as well as hone our ability to improve the quality of the craft products we make," explained Yanti, the nickname for Endahing Noor Suryanti.

Yanti said, the Pelanusa members displayed handcraft works that utilized waste fabric scraps as their distinctive feature. "With increasing ability and quality, in the future Pelanusa products must have high selling value, so that our members can exist to build independent businesses," Yanti emphasized.

Yanti said that the process of making this handmade work requires a high level of precision and patience, and it is only right that this product has high economic value.

Yanti hopes that with this information sharing and training, participants will be more creative in making products that are in demand by the market. "We also continue to encourage Pelanusa members to make various souvenirs by highlighting the icon of Malang City," explained Yanti.

This is a reflection of a country like Thailand that can raise its characteristic, namely elephants, so that it can be widely known. "Hopefully, Malang City will do the same, it can bring the theme of Singo Edan, Tugu or even the Malang Pride Building, the MCC building. It's just a matter of how to package it as attractively as possible so that it is widely known and becomes a souvenir that is a characteristic of Malang City," he added.

For 2024, Yanti said the Pelanusa community will focus more on incubating merchandise products, marketable souvenirs. For next year, the focus will be increased again by producing and selling not only for the local market, but also for the international market. (cah/yon)
