AKAP Bus Passengers at Arjosari Terminal Malang Begin to Increase

Head of the Arjosari Terminal in Malang, Maria Margareta

Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Approaching the moment of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah, the number of bus passengers passing through the Arjosari Terminal Malang has increased between five and ten percent. This increase is for Intercity Interprovincial Bus (AKAP) passengers with destinations such as Jakarta, Bandung, Central Java, Yogya and Solo.

This was conveyed by the Head of Arjosari Terminal Malang, Maria Margareta, Thursday (4/4/2024). For the number of AKAP buses departing from Arjosari Terminal every day, there are around 78 units and for those arriving around 40-48 units. While for Intercity buses within the Province (AKDP) between 230-300 units.

For AKDP bus passengers, there has been no increase and there may be a spike on D-2 of Lebaran. Because, at that time all workers, both private and government have started their holidays, so many will go home. "Some destinations that are busy, for example to Blitar, Tulungagung and Trenggalek," added Maria.

On D-2 and D-1 of Eid, the woman in hijab said that there would likely be an additional bus fleet if the surge in passengers was very high. To add this fleet, there must be permission from the East Java Provincial Transportation Agency, but until today there has been no plan to add. "We are still waiting and monitoring the condition of passengers at the terminal later, whether it needs to be added or not," explained Maria.

A fairly high surge in passengers is also predicted during the Lebaran return flow which will reach 40-50 percent of normal days or during the homecoming flow. If the number of passengers usually reaches three thousand people per day, then later it could reach 4.000 to 4.500 people. (say/yon)
