Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Various efforts continue to be made by the Malang City Government (Pemkot) to control the prices of various basic necessities and to control inflation. One of them is with the Mbois Ilakes Inflation Press Warung (WTI) which is currently in three markets, namely Blimbing Market, Pasar Besar and Dinoyo Market. In the future, WTI will be expanded again in 57 other sub-districts and markets and will be labeled Kios Press Inflation (KTI).
Head of the Food Security and Agriculture Service (Dispangtan) of Malang City, Slamet Husnan Hariyadi after the opening of the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) at the Blimbing District Office, Thursday (4/4/2024) said that the technical implementation would still be discussed, including with Perumda Tugu Aneka Usaha (Tunas), Perum Bulog, and the Cooperatives, Industry and Trade Service (Diskopindag).
"What is certain is that we will involve several parties, and later will collaborate with residents who already have kiosks or pre-owned shops. The existence of KTI is almost the same as WTI, namely it will sell a number of basic necessities for residents, such as rice, granulated sugar, cooking oil, eggs, shallots and garlic," added Slamet.
Regarding the requirements to be able to open a KTI, Slamet explained that it would also still be coordinated with various related parties. However, he ensured that it would not make it difficult for residents who have shops.
The plan for the existence of KTI also received appreciation from the Acting Mayor of Malang, Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM. According to him, this is a positive step and his party hopes that the presence of KTI will further help the community in meeting basic needs which of course are at low prices. "From this effort, we also hope to be able to control the inflation rate," he said after opening the GPM at the Blimbing District Office.
"The presence of WTI and KTI that sells a number of commodities at low prices is because there are price subsidies from the government and direct purchases of commodities from producers, such as eggs to Blitar Regency and rice directly from Perum Bulog," concluded Wahyu. (say/yon)
