Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – In recent days, several roads in Malang City have seen an increase in vehicle volumes, causing traffic congestion, especially around shopping centers. Responding to this, Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM when met on Sunday (21/4/2024) said that the congestion was caused by various factors, such as the high level of community activity after Eid al-Fitr and also the large number of tourists entering Malang City.
In addition, the number one person in the Malang City Government revealed that sometimes there are officers or parking attendants at shopping centers who tend to force vehicles into the parking area even though the parking lot is full. "I have written to the management of the shopping center regarding this congestion and so that if the parking area is full, it is not forced to continue to be filled," explained Wahyu.
Wahyu explained that his party planned to ask for assistance from officers from the TNI-Polri elements if in the next few days there is still congestion and the parking officers of the shopping center are still forcing their parking areas that are already full. "In this case, firmness is needed, so we feel there must be officers from the TNI-Polri later," Wahyu continued.
In addition, there are still many drivers who violate traffic signs, such as being prohibited from turning at certain points on the road, but insist on turning. In response to this, special officers will also be placed. "I was driving and monitoring traffic flow some time ago. After there were personnel from Satpol PP and the Transportation Agency, the flow became smooth," explained Wahyu.
"However, we ask drivers not to be orderly on the road when there are officers, because if there is a traffic jam, they will also be affected. In addition, parking officers should also be more orderly. This means that if the parking lot is full, don't force it. If that still happens, we will give a stern warning and even if necessary, sanctions will be imposed," he concluded. (say/yon)
