Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Malang City Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) held three Malang City-level competitions to accommodate talented and accomplished students in accordance with their fields of study. The three competitions are the National Student Arts Festival and Competition (FLS2N), the National Student Sports Olympiad (O2SN), and the Malang City-level Muslim Children's Festival (FAM).

Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM when opening the competition at SD Islam Al Azhar 56 Malang, Tuesday (23/4/2024) appreciated the activity which is a real manifestation of efforts to explore, care for and develop the talents, interests and creativity of students at the elementary school level.
“This can be said to be the right stage for them to show their true potential, realize their dreams, and channel their self-expression through various fields of art, sports, and religion,” explained Wahyu.
In addition to preparing participants for the provincial level, the FLS2N, O2SN and FAM activities were held precisely to commemorate the 110th Anniversary of Malang City. Wahyu hopes that through this competition activity, it can provide a wide space for students to explore their interests, find their true passion, and feel satisfaction from the process of developing themselves.
"Let us make this moment a milestone for the creation of a superior, characterful, and meaningfully contributing generation to society, region, and nation. Let us together provide support, encouragement, and sincere appreciation to each participant, because they are a valuable investment for our future," he explained.
The National Student Arts Festival and Competition (FLS2N) for elementary school level that is competed is solo singing, dance, pantomime, woven crafts and storytelling pictures. While the National Student Sports Olympiad (O2SN) for elementary school level consists of gymnastics, athletics, badminton, swimming, karate, and pencak silat.
"To all participants, congratulations on participating and may this event be a valuable and proud experience for all of you. Follow this activity with full enthusiasm and passion. Show your best abilities, and achieve proud achievements for yourself, your school, and your beloved Malang City," he said to all participants during the opening ceremony.
Also present at the opening was the Head of the Malang City Education and Culture Office, Suwarjana, SE, MM. Suwarjana. Participants who took part in the city-level competition were winners from the sub-district level with a total of 425 children participating. (yul/yon)
