MSME Bazaar Enlivens Malang City's Special Flavor Creation Competition for the Archipelago and the World'

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Special Flavor Creation Competition for the Archipelago and the World which was held in the area in front of Malang City Hall, Wednesday (24/4/2024) was enlivened by the presence of an UMKM Bazaar, various public services and the most special thing was 'sharing free fried food'.

There are five stands from the sub-districts, namely Blimbing Sub-district, Sukun Sub-district, Lowokwaru Sub-district, Kedungkandang Sub-district and Klojen Sub-district which present various typical snacks of Malang City. Various culinary creations served are processed from local ingredients from Malang City producers such as tempeh, tofu and butterfly pea flowers.

To support and elevate MSMEs to be better known to the public, there are also 21 MSMEs in Malang City that present various culinary products. Some of the products sold are combined with butterfly pea flowers to present snack creations that are not only delicious but also rich in benefits.

Hundreds of visitors also crowded the bazaar booths of the Malang City Special Flavor Creation Competition to enliven the 110th Anniversary of Malang City. Acting Chairperson of the Malang City PKK TP Dra. Hj. Hanik Andriani Wahyu Hidayat visited all the booths and appreciated the UMKM products displayed.

"The Malang City Special Flavor Creation Competition entitled 'Malang City's Special Flavor for the Archipelago and the World' was held to enliven the 110th Anniversary of Malang City. This Flavor Creation Competition also presents Malang City's MSMEs. In addition to mobilizing surrounding MSMEs, it also raises the potential of Malang City's special food ingredients through various healthy and nutritious preparations to prevent stunting," he explained.

Various UMKM products from each sub-district were also exhibited, ranging from culinary, crafts to fashion. One of them was the Sukun Sub-district booth which presented one of the superior local products of the local area, namely tofu.

"We take ingredients from 11 sub-districts in Sukun District, one of which is tofu produced by Tahu 73. We process the basic tofu ingredients into several snacks such as brontak tofu, petis tofu and others," explained the Head of TP. PKK Sukun District, Mrs. Tri Maryati Widi, S.Pd.

Meanwhile, stands from Blimbing District, Lowokwaru District, Kedungkandang District and Klojen District also served several typical snacks and drinks such as mendoan tempeh, fried peanut tempeh, duro martabak, processed drinks from telang flowers, secang, toga and hibiscus flowers. Various local UMKM products were also sold, ranging from batik, rattan and knitting crafts, chips and others.

"We really want to see the booths here. Because all the menus are from UMKM products. Events like this are good, hopefully they can be better and more. Then there is also a taste creation competition, hopefully the menus presented later can further strengthen efforts to prevent stunting," said one of the visitors from Bunulrejo Village. (yul/yon)
