Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Indonesian Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Drs. Teten Masduki visited the Malang Creative Center (MCC) in Malang City, Friday (26/4/2024). This visit was carried out as part of the Integrated Business Service Center for Cooperatives and SMEs (PLUT KUMKM) Summit 2024 held in Malang City on 25-28 April 2024.
Accompanied by Acting Mayor of Malang Wahyu Hidayat, the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs toured and saw various activities carried out at the MCC. Minister Teten expressed his appreciation for this creativity development house in Malang City. "MCC as a hub or incubator for creative young people like this I only found in Malang City," he said.
Minister Teten also expressed his admiration for the potential and movement of the creative economy in Malang City which is growing rapidly. "I am truly amazed by Malang City. Malang is complete, there are many campuses, creative young people, their products are based on creativity and technological innovation. I appreciate the Malang City Government for having this place that is a place for young people to be creative," he said.
Due to this potential, it is not surprising that the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs chose Malang City to host the event attended by representatives from various regions. "This MCC is extraordinary. This should be emulated by other regions. The annual budget is only seven billion but it can produce new entrepreneurs. Later we will connect because we at the ministry have an entrepreneur hub program that incubates startups for us to develop so that they can access capital, investors, and so on. So later we will work together with the Mayor," he said in front of the media crew.
Meanwhile, Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM expressed his pride in the appreciation given by the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs. Wahyu was also grateful that Malang City became the host of the PLUT UKM Summit 2024. According to him, through this event other regions can see firsthand how the creative economy is developing in Malang City.
Together with the creative people of Malang City who initiated MCC, Wahyu also had the opportunity to tell about the collaboration and synergy of the Malang City Government with various communities in building a creative economic ecosystem in Malang City through MCC.
"The Minister also appreciates how the creative economy in Malang City including the MCC, collaboration with the community and young people is very good. And it will also be conveyed to the President so that when he visits Malang City, he can also see it directly," concluded Wahyu. (ari/yon)
