Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government is paying attention to the life of the former boxer who made Indonesia's name famous on the international stage, Dobrak Arter. Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat together with the heads of related regional apparatuses and regional apparatuses visited Dobrak Arter's house located on Jalan IR Rais, Tanjungrejo Village, Sukun District, Sunday (5/5/2024).

Wahyu directly inspected the condition of the house that was severely damaged and categorized as uninhabitable. The house had been abandoned for four years because there were no funds for repairs. Dobrak, his wife and children were forced to rent a house in the Kasin area. Dobrak, who used to be a source of pride, is now in a mediocre economic condition.
The Acting Mayor of Malang emphasized that his party has also confirmed the ownership status of the house occupied by Dobrak Arter and his family. "We have received the information for a long time, only that assistance must have clear ownership status and land. After the ownership status is clear, it can be followed up. It has been four years since he left. And because he works as a parking attendant every day, there is no fixed income, although sometimes he also trains boxing in the afternoon," he explained.
Wahyu said that the house rehabilitation activity was the result of collaboration with various parties. "Earlier, I also assigned the Head of the Social Service P3AP2KB and the Head of the PUPRPKP Service to immediately submit it because its status is clear. If it can be done directly, it is from Baznas, if it is from the government, of course there is an SOP, there is a mechanism that must be carried out," he explained further.
However, Wahyu hopes the process will be fast so that the Malang City Government can also provide assistance soon. The first stage of rehabilitation will be carried out by Baznas and other communities. "Hopefully this first stage can renovate this house so that it can be more suitable. A suitable house is 'Aladdin', namely the roof, floor, and walls are a priority," he continued.
Responding to the plan to rehabilitate his house, Dobrak Arter also expressed his gratitude to the parties who were willing to help. "I am very grateful to the local government and volunteer friends who are willing to help. We are very happy," concluded the owner of the real name Wicahyono. (ari/yon)
