Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – There are many ways to commemorate National Education Day (Hardiknas), one of which is carried out by the TP PKK Kedungkandang District today, Tuesday (7/5/2024). This year's Hardiknas commemoration encouraged the TP PKK Kedungkandang to hold sign language training activities and story telling competitions using the mother tongue.

Head of TP PKK Kedungkandang District Dra. Rr. Hannie Purwandari said that through this Indonesian sign language training, it is hoped that it can improve good communication skills with deaf people with disabilities. "Because one day there will certainly be friends with disabilities who have to take care of administrative needs, we try to provide the best service for them. That's why we invited Dispendukcapil officers, health centers, service departments in the sub-district, also including parents of ABK. The number of participants is around 50 people," she explained.
Meanwhile, the storytelling competition using the mother tongue is aimed at re-cultivating the use of regional languages. The participants are mothers and children representing each sub-district in Kedungkandang District who have previously been selected at the sub-district level.
Acting Chairperson of TP PKK Dra. Hj. Hanik Andriani Wahyu Hidayat who was also present expressed her deep impression of the activity involving many women, the disabled, and children. Of course this shows that Malang City is increasingly inclusive.
"I hope this event can motivate us all to improve our sign language skills so that we can communicate better with our children, siblings, or friends who are born differently. In addition, let's cultivate the habit of listening to stories that contain lots of advice for children, which are also delivered in their mother tongue," said Hanik.
Hanik expressed her appreciation for the breakthroughs made in Kedungkandang District. "The Bunda PAUD program is more or less the same everywhere, the targets are also the same. What makes the difference is the breakthrough, and here I found that breakthrough," she said enthusiastically.
This moment also became an activity to commemorate Kartini Day. TP PKK Kedungkandang District also held a decoupage workshop and a bouquet snack making workshop attended by 30 people consisting of PAUD teachers and TP PKK sub-districts in the Kedungkandang District area. (ari/yon)
