Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) held a Study Tour Safety Socialization in the Malang City Disdikbud office hall, Friday (17/5/2024). The activity, which was attended by supervisors and principals of PAUD to public/private junior high schools in Malang City, is an educational step in organizing safe out-of-school activities for students, teachers, and other education personnel so as to minimize unexpected incidents.
Head of Malang City Education and Culture Office Suwarjana, SE, MM said that study tours or outing classes are part of the Independent Curriculum learning and have even been done before. Through outing classes, students are invited to get to know the environment better so that it is expected to make it easier to deepen the material because they directly see reality. Outing classes are one of the learning processes that are innovative, real and relevant to the demands of the times.
"Outing class is a program of the Merdeka Curriculum and the activities can be in the city or outside the city. This is adjusted to each person's ability and the purpose of the outing class. For Malang City, please do it in or out of town, we do not prohibit it. However, you have to be careful because using public transportation, you have to pay attention to the provisions according to the rules, eligibility, drivers, and so on," said Suwarjana.
Suwarjana said that his party requires schools to submit notifications regarding out-of-class learning activities to the Education and Culture Office. "We will provide recommendations with various provisions such as vehicle testing, committee readiness. Including the requirement for there to be an agreement with the guardians of students for the implementation of the activity. If an outing class is needed, everyone must participate, don't let it be because of the cost and then he is left behind, it is clearly not allowed," he explained.
Head of the Malang City Transportation Agency (Dishub) Widjaja Saleh Putra who was present as a resource person at this socialization appealed to schools to plan activities carefully. He stated that he was ready to synergize with the Education and Culture Agency by providing recommendations and other input related to the use of public transportation in this case tourist buses to be used as a mode of transportation in study tour activities, outing classes, and other similar activities. On this occasion, Widjaja also conveyed various requirements for good and suitable public transportation to be used, including the contents of PP Number 80 of 2012 and PP Number 19 of 2019.
"It is expected that fellow school principals or those appointed to organize tourism activities can ensure the suitability of the bus transportation that will be used, namely its administrative and physical suitability, including the health and license of the driver," he concluded as a reminder.
