Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Transportation Agency (Dishub) held a coaching activity for parking attendants (jukir) at the Atria Hotel, Malang City, Wednesday (22/5/2024). This coaching is an effort to provide understanding to parking attendants about the importance of organizing parking in accordance with the rules.

Head of Malang City Transportation Agency Widjaja Saleh Putra said that this coaching activity focused on socializing the importance of Parking Attendant Membership Cards (KTA) and taking action against parking violations. For information, currently in Malang City there are 3.470 parking spots with 1.005 parking attendants with KTA.
"Why is this KTA important, because in the field this KTA is a marker that the parking attendant is a parking attendant there. KTA is a sign that the person is indeed a parking attendant," he explained.
He added that in the future, this KTA is expected to be a reminder for parking attendants to always be responsible in carrying out their work. Through this coaching, parking attendants are also given an understanding that this KTA is not for life, but must be renewed every year, as well as being an assessment of the parking attendants' performance.
"This means, if the parking attendant is proven to have committed a violation, for example twice, then we will take it into consideration. Well, if the violation is committed up to three times, then we will revoke his KTA. That is already in our Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)," he added.
Meanwhile, Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM who was present and opened the event gave a positive appreciation for the coaching activities for parking attendants. Wahyu said that the role of parking attendants is also important because it helps organize parking in Malang City. "I appreciate it, these parking attendants will be coached and assisted. I am proud, if there were no parking attendants, the vehicles would definitely be chaotic," he said.
Wahyu hopes that by holding this coaching activity, parking attendants in Malang City will be able to understand the rules and regulations for parking and road use that apply. "Hopefully, these parking attendants will increase their knowledge and be able to apply it to parking users, so that a sense of satisfaction is created with the services provided," he concluded.
This coaching activity will be held for five days and attended by 500 parking attendants from five sub-districts in Malang City. Present as speakers at the event were the Chairman of Commission C of the Malang City DPRD, Head of Traffic Police of Malang City Police, Head of Operations of Malang City Police, and representatives of the Malang City Prosecutor's Office.
