Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Together with the ranks of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM attended the Press Release on the Destruction of Drug Evidence at the Malang City Police Headquarters, Wednesday (22/5/2024).
Drug evidence that was successfully confiscated in the case disclosure period of March-May 2024 was 1.979 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 46.444 kilograms of marijuana, 339.398 LL pills, 380 ecstasy pills, 20.000 Camophen pills. Meanwhile, what was destroyed this time was 1.506 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 44.216 grams of marijuana, 380 ecstasy pills, 19.000 Camophen pills, and 50.000 LL pills.
Malang City Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto said that the evidence was the result of uncovering 29 cases, with 31 suspects. "From uncovering this case, 440.799 lives were saved. The illicit goods were deliberately not converted into rupiah, because drugs are useless or useless goods. In addition to being blended, these drugs were also destroyed using an incinerator machine to make it faster and not produce smoke," added the Police Chief.
The disclosure of the case and destruction of evidence was appreciated by the Forkopimda ranks, including the Acting Mayor of Malang. According to him, this is the result of collaboration and synergy between various parties, so that cases of drug distribution and abuse can continue to be suppressed.
"We will continue to improve cooperation and align with various parties in an effort to realize this. Malang City as an Education City inhabited by hundreds of thousands of students is indeed prone to drug cases," added the number one man in the Malang City Government.
From this condition, it is a shared responsibility to prevent and combat criminal cases, especially drugs. "With togetherness, then whatever we will achieve, will be realized well," concluded Wahyu. (say/yon)
