According to him, train transportation has various advantages, including customer safety, customer security and comfort, punctuality, and also reducing the potential for accidents on the highway.

"KAI Daop 8 Surabaya always tries to prioritize train travel safety, comfort, and punctuality in delivering customers to their destination stations," added Luqman.

During the long holiday and joint leave for Waisak Day 2024, based on data on Tuesday (21/5/2024) at 10.00 WIB, long-distance train ticket reservations departing from Malang Station on 22-26 May 2024 were recorded at 13.148 customers. "This data will continue to increase because ticket sales are still ongoing," he explained.

Here are some tips that can be done by the public when traveling by train. First, book train tickets well in advance, then provide enough travel time to get to the station so as not to miss the train, third is to pay attention to the luggage that is allowed.

Meanwhile, items that are prohibited from being carried as baggage include animals, narcotics, psychotropic drugs and other addictive substances, firearms/sharp objects, flammable/explosive objects, objects that smell bad/fishy or can harm health, and other items that according to the boarding officer's consideration are not suitable to be transported as baggage due to their condition and size.

"In addition to prioritizing the safety of the train journey, KAI also prioritizes the comfort of every customer while at the station, on the train, to the destination. However, support from each customer is also needed to be able to create an atmosphere that supports each other in order to create a comfortable, safe, and secure journey," concluded Luqman Arif.
