Malang City Top 10 National Digital Government Award 2024
Malang City – The seriousness of Malang City in accelerating the implementation of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) for better public services has borne sweet fruit. For the first time, Malang City received the 2024 Digital Government Award (DGA) and entered the 10 Best SPBE Implementation in the City Government Category which was presented at the 2024 SPBE Summit and GovTech Indonesia Launch at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (27/5/2024).
In his direction, President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo emphasized the importance of the spirit of integrated services which must become new ways to leave behind the culture of one innovation, one application which has resulted in thousands of applications in various government agencies.
"The presence of bureaucracy should serve, not complicate or hinder. So the benchmark is public satisfaction, ease of public affairs. How can it be achieved if there are 27 thousand applications that run independently, are not integrated and even overlap. So starting this year, stop making new applications," said President Jokowi.
In line with this, the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB), Abdullah Azwar Anas, said that the SPBE Summit and the Launch of Govtech Indonesia which were combined with the Digital Government Award were a form of commitment to encourage integration of government services nationally and regionally.
"This is a direction and ideal that we want to realize together soon. And the Digital Government Award is the result of monitoring and evaluating the implementation of SPBE to all government agencies. Together with 30 universities with 47 rigid indicators to ensure objective, professional and independent assessments," explained Anas.
Regarding the performance of SPBE Malang City, Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM expressed his appreciation and commitment to continue encouraging digitalization and integration of public services.
"This is an appreciation and a real manifestation of what the Malang City Government has done. As directed by the President, we integrate existing applications, so that if in 2022 our SPBE index was only 2,60, in 2023, thank God it was 3,82, this is a significant increase," explained Wahyu.
The soaring digital performance of Malang City was born from the hard work of all levels who improved in various SPBE domains. Starting from the policy aspect through the stipulation of Malang Mayor Regulation Number 8 of 2023 concerning SPBE, as well as the stipulation of Architecture, Plan Map and management of the SPBE Team.
Next in digital infrastructure, all government offices, various public spaces, tourist attractions and even 552 points in RW throughout Malang City have been provided with internet access by the Malang City Government. Also included are the services of 326 public CCTV points and of course the use of various digital service applications.
Such as the Siapel Tegas application (Population Administration), the Si-Izol application (Regional Licensing and Non-Licensing), regional tax applications, the Sambat application (complaints) which is integrated with SP4N LAPOR, and the 112 emergency service.
All of them will soon be presented in a single service platform that is currently being built by the Malang City Government. "Hopefully, with this award and appreciation (DGA 2024), it will spur digital services in Malang City to be even better," concluded Wahyu.
