Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – Working Group (Pokja) 2 PKK RW 10 Oma View Atas Housing, Cemorokandang Village held an ecoprint training by collaborating with Evi Kurniawati from Reramban Ecoprint at the RW 10 Hall of Oma View Atas Housing, Saturday (25/5/2024) to Sunday (26/5/2024).

Head of the PKK RW 10 Cemorokandang Village Team, Esti Cahya Ningrum, said that the training attended by 15 participants was aimed at ensuring that mothers in RW 10 at least have skills that can be developed, both for themselves, their families and the environment. "So the hope is that after having skills, they can be developed to become a source of income for the family," explained Esti.
She added that ecoprint is a promising fashion business opportunity. To make it also requires natural materials, skills and of course creativity. "Ecoprint also has a high selling value for a very good work. Moreover, using silk fabric, the price can be millions, if it is made of cotton fabric, it is still around hundreds of thousands," explained Esti, Sunday (26/5/2024).
In the future, training like this will be followed up and held continuously until the participants are proficient in making ecoprints. "If the participants can make good products, later they can work on orders from Reramban first, the term is to become a sub. These orders can be worked on from home without leaving daily obligations," he explained.
The training resource person presented, Evi Kurniawati, who is the founder of the environmentally friendly fashion brand Reramban Ecoprint, said that this time, the basic ecoprint technique was taught. "On the first day, they learned to prepare the fabric, on the second day they learned the technique of printing leaves. After going through various processes, today the mothers' activities are printing with various flower, leaf, and stem motifs on the fabric," explained Evi.
Esti, a resident of RW 10 of Oma View Atas Housing, said that marketing ecoprint products has a very good opportunity. She said that Reramban Ecoprint fashion products have been marketed offline and online.
"With a consignment business system, Reramban Ecoprint products are sold in various resorts, boutiques and hotels. For the price, Reramban Ecoprint products measuring two meters are sold starting at Rp300.000 for cotton, and silk materials are sold starting at Rp1,8 million," he concluded. (cah/yon)
