Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The construction of the Malang Big Market (PBM) is planned to be realized in 2025, and is currently a period of review of various things that are targeted to be completed in 2024 so that construction can begin in 2025. The construction of PBM is also included in the program of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).
This was conveyed by the Acting Mayor of Malang, Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM when met on Thursday (30/5/2024). He said that in the construction of the PBM, not all market buildings will be demolished, especially the front of the market which is currently considered still feasible and does not need to be demolished. His party also considered the existence of traders who are still carrying out buying and selling activities in the PBM area.
This week, the number one man in the Malang City Government said that his party would fulfill the summons of the PUPR Ministry to complete several improvement criteria. "The report has been made. Probably next week or in the near future we will be summoned by the PUPR Minister, to fulfill several criteria and the budget happens to be ready, just need to find the nominal," said Wahyu
Meanwhile, regarding the amount of the repair, it will still be reviewed. The reason is, the amount that appears is still using the old study, which has not been adjusted to current needs. "Because now the standard unit price has changed, so I ask for it to be checked again. Maybe we can budget it from the APBD if there is certainty, it can also be from the PUPR Ministry," he added.
Apart from that, Wahyu also admitted to having met and had a dialogue with three PBM associations, and one association requested that the market be completely dismantled. "Later we will hold another audience regarding this, and we hope that what we plan can be approved by the three market associations, so that later when the construction process runs well," he concluded.
