Balikpapan (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) delegation proudly showcased the beauty of its arts and culture through the Pratnyaparamita ing Malang Parade at the Nusantara Cultural Carnival which was part of the XVII National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Association of Indonesian City Governments (Apeksi) in 2024 in Balikpapan City, Wednesday (5/6/2024).
Attended by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia elected for 2024-2029, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the Nusantara Cultural Carnival held in the Dome area, Balikpapan Sport & Convention Center (BSCC) that night was witnessed by Balikpapan residents who had long gathered to watch. The cultural parade group from Malang City was also welcomed and witnessed directly by the Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM accompanied by the Acting Chairperson of the Malang City PKK TP Dra. Hj. Hanik Andriani Wahyu Hidayat who wore matching Malangan clothing.
Art Director of the Malang City delegation team, Dr. Robby Hidajat, said that the Pratnyaparamita ing Malang Parade is a spectacular cultural celebration that showcases the diversity and richness of Malang City's cultural heritage traditions. "Starting with the tolak balak segment, featuring the caplokan kucingan army and celeng pengganggu pertanian (a nuisance wild boar)," explained the man who is an academic from the State University of Malang in the field of dance and performing arts.
Next, the edan-edanan dance performance with rhythmic movements full of spirit symbolizes the ward off disaster to expel and cleanse negative energy. Then there is the appearance of Dayang Putri Kedaton who accompanies Queen Ken Dedes wearing a magnificent costume depicting an elegant lotus flower that represents purity.
"Not only that, Barisan Prajurit Tombak Braja displays the figure of a line of soldiers who gallantly hold traditional weapons as a depiction of strength and courage. This cultural parade also includes village heads throughout Malang City who wear traditional costumes," he explained again.
The Pratnyaparamita ing Malang Parade not only displays the beauty of art and culture, but also conveys the moral values of courage, grace, and wisdom, which connect the past with the present in the spirit of cultural pride towards the City of Malang Mbois Ilakes.
The Acting Mayor of Malang also expressed his appreciation to all delegates from Malang City who performed amazingly. Especially the Department of Education and Culture (Dikbud) and the Department of Youth, Sports and Tourism (Disporapar) who have collaborated well with Sanggar Sardulo Djojo, as well as representatives of art and culture teachers throughout Malang City who are members of the dance art teacher association showcasing the diversity and richness of Malang City's culture.
"The XVII Apeksi National Working Meeting is a means for Malang City to introduce its rich tourism and culture to the wider public. Alhamdulillah, earlier when the Malang City delegation performed the Pratnyaparamita ing Malang Parade, it was greeted very enthusiastically by the guests who attended and the public who watched.
