Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – One of the priority programs of the Malang City Government is to reduce poverty rates. Various concrete steps have been taken to realize it. The latest data from the Malang City Social Service, Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning (Dinsos P3AP2KB), 400 beneficiaries (PM) have graduated.
This means that the 400 residents were released from participation in the regular social assistance (bansos) program, namely the Family Hope Program (PKH) and the Basic Food Program, because they had met several criteria.
Head of the Malang City Social Service, P3AP2KB, Donny Sandito, when confirmed, Friday (7/6/2024) revealed that indicators of beneficiaries who have graduated include no longer having components in the Family Hope Program (PKH).
For example, there are no more children to be schooled, no more elderly care, and there are other sources of income outside of the main income. "Financially, they can already meet their daily needs, such as food and health services," explained Donny.
However, so that they do not fall into the poverty line again, the man who previously served as Head of Public Relations of the Malang City Regional Secretariat said that his party is still providing assistance. However, the value and amount are different from before. The assistance is from the Indonesian Economic Heroes (PENa) program for business capital and so on.
"That's why we also often hold entrepreneurship training and how to establish MSMEs. The goal is to eradicate poverty, so that it is hoped that they can get out of the poverty line and can develop," explained Donny.
Last year, around 400 residents graduated. Of this number, some residents applied personally, some systematically. "Currently, we continue to strive so that more beneficiary residents graduate," concluded Donny. (say/yon)
