Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – Support for the development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Malang City was again demonstrated by the Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM by visiting the MSME center in Mojolangu Village, Lowokwaru District, Malang City, Tuesday (18/6/2024).
The three UMKM production houses visited were Omah Daster Eva, Bolen Malang Fairuziba, and Arem-arem Spesial Bu Ida. According to Wahyu, this visit was a proactive step by the Malang City Government (Pemkot) in supporting the potential of Malang City UMKM, especially in terms of promotion and marketing. He said that many of these UMKM products are better known outside the city than in Malang City itself.
"I hope that with the Kemis Mbois program, our UMKM products can be better known outside and also better known by the people of Malang City itself. Well, this is also part of my job to introduce UMKM products in Malang City," he said.
Wahyu also demonstrated his support for MSMEs by forming a program called 'Sahabat MSMEs' which will later help develop MSMEs in Malang City, starting from providing training, administrative facilities to helping with promotions and marketing that can expand sales reach.
"Hopefully, Sahabat UMKM can have a positive impact so that our UMKM is not only known in Malang City but also outside Malang City," he added.
The Sahabat UMKM program, Wahyu explained, is also an answer and follow-up to the aspirations of the community that came through the NGOMBE program. Just like the NGOMBE program, Wahyu hopes that through the Sahabat UMKM program, the Malang City Government can take the initiative and get involved directly to hear aspirations and provide services for the development of UMKM in Malang City.
