BPBD Launches Pentahelix Collaborative Disaster Services

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM launched the Disaster Improvement Service Through Strengthening Pentahelix Collaborative Work initiated by the Malang City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) at the Ngalam Command Center (NCC) Malang City Hall, Friday (21/6/2024).

In his speech, Acting Mayor of Malang Wahyu Hidayat appreciated the launched service which will certainly strengthen the synergy of all elements in facing disasters. Previously, BPBD had already built resilient sub-districts, formed a Rapid Reaction Team (TRC) to strengthen disaster education and various technological innovations.

The launched application is said to be part of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) which aims to improve services to the community, including in terms of disasters. "With this application, it is hoped that services to the community will be better and make it easier for the community," explained Wahyu.

He said that disaster services do not only involve government elements, but also involve all elements of government, media, business actors, banking and communities. The five main elements will accelerate disaster services and strengthen community resilience.

"For that, I also convey my highest appreciation to all parties who contributed to this activity. Let's continue to improve communication, coordination and collaboration including in disaster services and prevention," Wahyu invited.

Wahyu also advised the community to increase awareness and concern for disasters. "I hope that with this service, it will strengthen Malang City to become a city that is alert and responsive to disasters," he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang City BPBD, Prayitno, said that there are five solutions to improving work services, namely collaborative pentahelix, the formation of resilient sub-districts, the formation of TRC, strengthening disaster education, and technological innovation.

"Pentahelix is ​​a mandate from Perka BNPB, and disaster is a shared problem. Everyone has a role. The media provides sufficient and accurate information, then business groups can help with CSR and, likewise, other elements with their respective roles," said Prayitno. (cah/yon)
