Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Health Office (Dinkes) again held a free early detection examination of cervical cancer through IVA (Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid) Test and Clinical Breast Examination (Sadanis) at the Cisadea Health Center, Malang City, Wednesday (3/7/2024). It was recorded that approximately 40 mothers participated in this examination.

With the early detection program for cervical cancer through the IVA and Sadanis examination methods, it is hoped that it can help the community to increase their understanding of women's health and prevent an increase in cases of the disease.
"Cervical and breast cancer cases are currently quite high, even 1 in 5. So far, examinations such as IVA are still considered 'taboo', but by holding something like this we encourage the community to want to check themselves," said the Head of Cisadea Health Center, dr. Widjatmiko.
Early detection of cervical cancer through IVA Test and Sadanis will be held routinely every month. This activity continues to be intensified to find out health conditions and can and of course so that there is fast and appropriate treatment if there are symptoms or positive examination results.
This examination begins with weight measurement, blood pressure check, waist circumference measurement, after which a breast examination and IVA examination are carried out to detect cervical cancer. "The results can be released immediately. If the results are positive, we will recommend cryotherapy. There are three health centers that are supported by cryotherapy equipment and officers, in Cisadea, Kedungkandang, and Ciptomulyo. This activity is free, if at the health center, it can also be free with BPJS at RSSA. After this therapy, another evaluation will be carried out," he explained.
In this examination, the Malang City Health Office also collaborated with the Murnajati Lawang Public Health Training Unit. This collaboration was established because Malang City has an IVA Team in every health center, making it the right place to learn for training participants. This time there are 30 health workers consisting of three doctors and 27 nurses who are studying and gaining skills in Malang City. (ari/yon)
