Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Community Protection Unit (Satlinmas) is the front guard in maintaining environmental security that involves active community participation in the process of preventing, securing, and overcoming various common challenges that may arise, including during the implementation of the Democratic Party. In order to increase the role of Satlimas in the Regional Head Election (Pilkada), the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) held a coordination meeting with Linmas representatives from various areas of Malang City at the Savana Hotel, Thursday (4/7/2024).

Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM revealed that the implementation of the last Legislative and Presidential Elections could be said to be successful, and ran safely, smoothly, and conducively. The success of this implementation was thanks to the collaboration of various parties, including members of the Linmas which now number 4.485 personnel. "Thank you to all members who have carried out their duties and responsibilities wholeheartedly and tirelessly. It is not an exaggeration if I personally give the title of Linmas members as heroes of democracy," he said.
Wahyu also encouraged Linmas to conduct an evaluation as a provision in preparing themselves for the Pilkada. This evaluation of Linmas' role is a crucial step, considering the possibility of increasing political and social dynamics.
Furthermore, Wahyu revealed that there will be various adjustments in the assignment of Linmas in the upcoming Pilkada, considering that the number of TPS is not as many as during the last Pileg and Pilpres, namely from 2.440 TPS to 1.773 TPS. The health status of Linmas members will also be a concern. Together with the Head of Satpol PP, Wahyu said that he would look at the physical readiness and age of members, medical history, and arrange the task schedule better.
"Hopefully the problems that arose yesterday can be minimized. Including so that there is no PSU (Re-Voting) again. Hopefully it will be safe and conducive," Wahyu hoped.
Meanwhile, Head of Satpol PP Malang City Heru Mulyono, S.IP, MT revealed that this activity is a step to evaluate the performance of Linmas in carrying out its duties during the legislative and presidential elections. This evaluation is needed in preparing for the implementation of the Pilkada in November.
In addition to preparing personnel for the regional elections, Heru said that with current developments, Linmas is also encouraged to meet the established competency standards.
"If you have the competence, you can be like your colleagues at Satpol PP, that's the direction. In addition, you will be introduced to the Sinlimas application (Linmas Reporting Management Information System). So all activities or incidents that exist can be inputted into the application, so that they can be known and monitored by regional stakeholders," he explained. (ari/yon)
