Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government through the National Unity and Politics Agency (Bakesbangpol) of Malang City held an Early Warning Socialization for the Community in the Framework of Drug Prevention and Abuse at the Islamic Center Building of Malang City, Sunday (14/7/2024). Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM was present to open and be a resource person at this activity.
In his direction, Wahyu Hidayat said that currently the circulation and abuse of drugs has been very disturbing and worrying. "The activity held in collaboration with Forkopimda is an effort to prevent drug abuse early on," explained Wahyu.
He said that the uncovering of the largest drug factory in Malang City must be a concern and joint evaluation to further tighten supervision. That is why community involvement is very necessary to overcome it. "Although we have tried hard to carry out supervision, the incident some time ago made us aware to increase our vigilance," said Wahyu.
He further stated that anticipatory measures against drug distribution and abuse are very necessary. "We really appreciate what Bakesbangpol has done today, inviting all elements of society to increase vigilance and maintain the conduciveness of Malang City," he said.
Participants of this activity are the RW heads as the spearhead and extension of the government to be forwarded to the community in their respective areas. "We must really increase vigilance and extra attention to prevent unwanted incidents," said the number one person in the Malang City Government.
Meanwhile, Acting Head of Bakesbangpol Malang City Drs. Alie Mulyanto, MM said that the Malang City Government continues to fight to prevent and eradicate drug abuse.
"We always conduct education, one of which is the prevention of drug abuse. Including today's activity, we invite all RW heads to increase awareness regarding drug abuse which has been very disturbing," said Alie.
In addition to the Acting Mayor of Malang, also present as speakers were the Head of Intelligence of the 0833 Malang City Military District Command, from the Malang City Police and the Malang City National Narcotics Agency (BNN). The socialization was attended by 559 participants consisting of the Malang City FKDM and the RW Chairmen throughout Malang City. (cah/yon)
