Coaching and Monitoring Evaluation (Monev) for Scholarship Recipients at PTN/PTS Level at Malang Creative Center (MCC) Building

Head of the Social and Community Affairs Section of the Malang City Secretariat Drs. R. Achmad Mabrur said that this activity is part of the monitoring and evaluation steps for the use of scholarships that have been given to 292 outstanding students from underprivileged families. Every month, the Malang City Government (Pemkot) disburses financial assistance of Rp2.000.000,00 to the recipients.

In the monitoring and evaluation conducted, Mabrur said that the scholarship recipients were very responsible for the scholarships they received, this was proven by the achievements of each recipient. "What the Malang City Government gave to these students was responded to very well with the achievements given. Of these recipients, some have an IP of 4, some have 3,9. This is extraordinary," he said.

Meanwhile, Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat MM said that this monitoring and evaluation activity was also carried out as a form of responsibility for the use of APBD funds that had been disbursed. He hopes that the scholarships received by the students can be used optimally in supporting the learning process, because the funds received are part of the funds received from the community that must be accounted for.

"Of course we do not want the use of this budget to be not in accordance with our expectations. So the Kesra Section carries out monitoring and evaluation to be able to remind and direct continuously so that the accountability of the scholarships provided can be used as well as possible," he said.

Wahyu said that the scholarship was given as an effort to strengthen the education sector in Malang City. Education is an important pillar in city development, and scholarship recipients are heirs who will continue the city's development, so they need to be prepared very well.

"From us and also the city of Malang, we place our hopes on this young generation who will later become the successors of what we do. Therefore, we hope they can continue to maintain and even improve their achievements," he concluded. (iu/yon)
