Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM appealed to the public, especially Muslims to always be vigilant and aware of teachings that are not in accordance with religious guidance. Such as when there are people who claim to be prophets, can talk to angels and even claim to be God. According to him, such things are not justified and the public is required to be smarter in responding to them.

The message was conveyed by the number one person in the Malang City Government after opening the Ijtima' Ulama Fiqh which carried the theme 'Straightening Aqidah, Upholding Sharia' which was held by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Malang City at Hotel 101 Malang City, Saturday (20/7/2024). If the public sees indications of misleading religious teachings, Wahyu asked them to immediately report to the MUI or law enforcement officers.
"Therefore, this event is very important to emphasize and enlighten the public to always be vigilant. We do not want any teachings that are not in accordance with religious guidance, because it will disturb the public, divide the Islamic brotherhood and will disrupt the conduciveness of Malang City which has been well maintained," he said.
So far, Wahyu said all negative things in the name of religion cannot be underestimated and are even quite large, because this concerns and influences public perception. "Therefore, let us work together so that misleading teachings do not develop in society," he invited.
"We from the Malang City Government and MUI have also coordinated with law enforcement officers, community leaders and youth to prevent various security threats. Including those that are prioritized are those that always use the name of religion. Therefore, the ijtimak of the scholars in determining religious laws based on the Qur'an and hadith in a case that occurs is very much needed," explained Wahyu.
With this ijtimak of ulama from MUI, the community will also receive enlightenment and knowledge regarding what is Islamic law and what teachings are deviant. The MUI of Malang City will also later provide a firm statement from the results of this ijtimak. "This step is taken so that harmony and security in Malang City are maintained properly," concluded Wahyu. (say/yon)
