Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM sent off 58 athletes from the All Indonesia Chess Association (Percasi) of Malang City who will compete in the 2024 Chess Provincial Championship (Kejurprov), Monday (23/7/2024).
At the Provincial Chess Championship held in Blitar City from Tuesday (23/7/2024) to Thursday (25/7/2024), Wahyu hopes that Malang City chess players can perform well and achieve the best results.
"Hopefully, Malang City chess players can bring a good name to Malang City. Maintain sportsmanship and always believe you can be the best," said Wahyu while giving directions at Malang City Hall, Monday (23/7).
Wahyu said that the Chess Championship event could be an event to hone the skills of Malang City chess players, especially since in 2025 Malang Raya will host the XNUMXth East Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov).
"Hopefully, Malang City athletes can achieve their best achievements which will certainly have an impact on the progress of the world of sports in Malang City," concluded Wahyu.
Likewise, the Chairperson of the Malang City Percasi, Tatit Budi, also hopes that the Malang City chess contingent can perform brilliantly and present the best results.
"We are committed to performing as well as possible. If possible, bring home the East Java Provincial Championship Trophy to Malang City," said Tatit.
Tatit said that of the 58 chess players who departed, they consisted of class A to class G. The ages of the chess players from Malang City who appeared in Blitar City were from 4 years old to 19 years old. (cah/yon)
